The Hardangerjøkulen Ultra starts and finishes at Liseth Pensjonat & Hyttetun, near Vøringsfossen in Eidfjord, Vestland region, Norway. This July mountain trail race offers two main options: a long ultra of approximately 95 km and a shorter 34 km route for those seeking the same terrain in a reduced distance.
The long course circumnavigates the Hardangerjøkulen glacier, utilizing trails from the Norwegian Trekking Association's network. Participants will spend the entire day in mountain terrain, encountering varied sections from easier paths to highly technical ground, with potential snow patches remaining on parts of the route. The 34 km course covers a portion of the same area, also presenting a varied, demanding, and entirely off-road experience. Liseth functions as the weekend hub, providing accommodation, meals, and a large screen for supporters to track runners throughout the event. Prior to its official inclusion on the race calendar, the event was conducted as a test run.
