About this race
Fredrikstad Multiconsult Maraton is a marathon held in late October in Fredrikstad, Norway. The start and finish are located at FIF-huset on Ilaveien. Fredrikstad IF organizes the race, which began in 2001 and is now in its 26th edition. It is a full marathon, listed as both 42 km and 42.2 km in event materials. Runners should anticipate cool autumn conditions; typical October temperatures are between 6°C and 14°C, with cloudy days common and crisp sunshine also possible.
The course consists of three equal 14 km loops following an initial 195 meters, meaning kilometer markers repeat on each lap. The first half is on asphalt, after which the route transitions to gravel and forest roads through Fredrikstadmarka. This layout has remained consistent since the first Fredrikstad Marathon, offering returning participants a familiar challenge. Recent top results indicate a field of club runners achieving fast winning times, with men finishing under 2:45 and a women's winning time just over 3:09.
