About this race
Frikarusellen is a six-race 5 km series held at Espeland idrettsplass in Arna, with evening starts at 19:00. The races take place from autumn through late winter. Runners may register for the entire series or for individual races. Start numbers are assigned via online registration and collected at Espelandshallen before the race; no on-site registration is available.
The route begins north of Londalskrysset, passes Gamle Haukeland station, and returns along the same path, finishing within Espeland idrettsplass. The 5 km course has been officially measured twice. Prior to the first measurement, it was approximately 100 metres short, accounting for older, faster record times. The current records are fast for a local 5 km: Marius Vedvik recorded 14:20, and Eli Anne Dvergsdal recorded 16:49.8. Refreshments are provided post-finish, and results are published via EQ Timing under the Frikarusellen name.
