Høyjord Rundt og Rundt is an August trail race held in Høyjord, Vestfold og Telemark. It features a loop format allowing runners to select their preferred distance of hill work. The primary distances offered are 11 km, 22 km, 55 km, and 77 km. Additionally, the marathon course consists of seven laps on a distinct 6.1 km route. This shorter course is also available for walkers and recreational runners, with or without timing. The climbing on this route is less demanding, approximately 150 meters per lap, compared to the main loop's 470 meters.
The main loop begins with 1 km of asphalt and roughly 1.5 km of gravel before transitioning to tractor trails and steep, technical uphill paths. The climb can be slick, making trail shoes advisable. The route levels out around the 6 km mark, leading to a viewpoint near 7 km. A refreshment station offering water, juice, and snacks is located at 2.5 km. Subsequent sections include a technical descent, a passage by an old bear den, and stretches across fields and along tractor paths. All finishers are awarded a medal. The race week also provides untimed run-walk options on Thursday or Friday over 11 km, 6.1 km, or 6.4 km for those unable to participate in the main Saturday event.
