Jølster Maraton 2026

Jølster Maraton begins at Jøstrahallen in Vassenden, a village in Jølster, western Norway, with road races held in July. The event offers a full marathon, half marathon, 10 km, and 5 km, allowing participants to select from a short road race to a full-distance marathon. A 4.2 km Miniton from Vassenden is also available for those walking or running with children, with the option to shorten the route if necessary. The primary races traverse roads alongside Jølstravatnet, where the lake and the Western Norwegian scenery define much of the course. The day is structured for both competitive racing and relaxed activity: timed participants compete for class and distance awards, while others may cycle on the south side, register in Vassenden, and enter a prize drawing. Awards are given to the top three finishers in each class and distance, with the award ceremony taking place near the finish line and results displayed at Jøstrahallen.
