About this race
Kjelsåsløpet is an 8 km gravel race held in Lillomarka, with all distances starting and finishing at Linderudkollen. The primary race follows hilly forest roads and is known locally as Kjelsåsrunden. Organized by Kjelsås Langrenn, it caters to both recreational runners and competitive athletes, featuring age categories from youth to veteran. The event also includes children's races: a 1.5 km for older children and a free 500 m MINI race for the youngest.
The course is a single, short, challenging gravel-road loop within Lillomarka, distinct from longer city or trail races. This format fosters a family atmosphere while maintaining the seriousness of the main race. Prizes are awarded to the top three in each category, with cash prizes for the best male and female finishers. Official male and female course records are maintained. The inaugural event saw 112 finishers in the 8 km race, with Joakim Skjæggestad Mohn winning the men's race in 25:56 and Nora Sanness taking the women's race in 28:12.
