About this race
Knarvik Maraton begins and ends at Knarvik Stadion. Marathon and half marathon participants will run on traffic-free roads surrounding the stadium on a Saturday in June. This is a standard road race. Late registrations are accepted until the start, with bib collection available in Nordhordlandshallen, adjacent to the start area.
The route consists of a 5,274-meter loop. Marathon runners complete eight laps, and half marathoners complete four. Three aid stations are positioned on each lap, providing marathon runners with 24 opportunities for drinks. These stations offer water, bananas, cola, and other essentials. Participants may also set up their own individual drink stations. The broader KnarvikMila event originated with a 10 km race and expanded to include conferences, seminars, concerts, a fair, and family activities, guided by the principle of “Health, culture and well-being.” The top three male and female finishers in the marathon and half marathon receive cash prizes. Age-class winners are also recognized, with awards presented on stage shortly after the top three overall finishers conclude their races.
