Kystløpet begins along the old railway path in Egersund, Rogaland, offering a 11 km run. This community road race, organized by EIK friidrett, starts and finishes at Gamle Eigerøyveien and has taken place annually since 2007.
The course traces the former Jærbanen railway line, with a turnaround point at Maurholen before returning to Egersund. Approximately 50 runners had pre-registered, and organizers anticipated additional entries before race day. A local tradition adds purpose to the event: any surplus funds are donated to charity, specifically supporting the Egersund and Dalane Red Cross and assisting refugees in participating in athletics through competition grants and training attire.
