Offroad Finnmark

Offroad Finnmark is an off-road cycling series centered in Alta, Finnmark, northern Norway. The main start and finish area is the town’s pedestrian street near Scandic. The series offers a children’s race and youth races of 30 km and 50 km, alongside solo and team races covering 150 km, 300 km, and 700 km. Youth races are divided into 13-14, 15-16, and 17-19 age groups. The 700 km race features women’s, men’s, mixed, and solo categories. The course design returns riders to Alta multiple times. Checkpoints for the 50 km youth race and the 150 km, 300 km, and 700 km events are located there. The 150 km race has a finisher cutoff. The longer races are managed as serious expeditions, with rider meetings and registration occurring the day before each start. The series maintains a strong town-center presence: children collect race numbers on the pedestrian street, winners finish there, and the 150 km and youth races conclude with a breakfast banquet and awards. A unique local tradition is an open lasso-throwing event for participants.
