Ribbemaraton is a marathon-style run held annually on the third day of Christmas, connecting Löplabben’s stores in Sandvika and Ski. It originated from a small holiday run among friends, and the social aspect remains more significant than competitive times. One edition saw 45 participants complete the route, indicating its nature as a community event rather than a large-scale race.
The course begins outside the Löplabben shop in Sandvika and concludes outside the Löplabben shop at Ski Storsenter. Participants may encounter varied winter conditions, including bare roads and icy sections. The field comprises individuals with diverse running backgrounds, such as Anders Nordby, who was completing his 29th marathon, and Odd Gunnar Tveit, adding to his extensive history of hundreds of finishes.
