Romsdalseggenløpet is a September mountain race over Romsdalseggen in Romsdal, Norway. It begins in Vengedalen and concludes on Nesaksla, high above Åndalsnes. The course measures 8.6 km, featuring 970 meters of ascent and 700 meters of descent. Though brief on paper, it is steep, rugged, and demanding from the outset.
The race utilizes the standard red T-marked hiking path across Romsdalseggen, primarily crossing rough trail and rocky scree. Participants journey through expansive mountain terrain, with Vengetindene, Romsdalshorn, and Trolltindene flanking the route. The descent leads toward Nesaksla, offering vistas of Molde and the coastal islands. The finish line is situated at the Eggen restaurant atop Nesaksla, at an elevation of 700 meters. Certain exposed sections are equipped with chains for safety, and these areas receive additional marking and personnel during the event.
