Sandnesløpet begins and ends at Sandnes Idrettspark, with the primary activities centered at Sandnes stadion. This running event, held in March and organized by Sandnes Idrettslag Friidrett, features a half marathon, 10 km, 5 km, and a children's race. It caters to participants aiming for a specific time and families seeking a short run within the stadium. The organizers' message is straightforward: set a yearly goal, compete with a friend, relative, or neighbor, or simply run to test your limits.
The half marathon route departs the stadium for Soma, Austvoll, Gml Folvordvei, Malmhei, Folkvord, and Lura before returning, covering 165 m of elevation gain. The 10 km course utilizes Sandnes stadion, Soma, Austvoll, and Folkvord, with 70 m of climbing. The 5 km path winds between the stadium, Soma, and Vølstad camping, involving 50 m of elevation gain. Younger participants will run 200 m or 400 m within the stadium grounds. All finishers receive a medal, and the top three male and female runners in the half marathon, 10 km, and 5 km events are awarded cash prizes.
