About this race
Speira Karmøy Marathon takes place on Karmøy in November, offering a marathon, half marathon, 10 km, and a 400 m children’s run. The marathon covers 42 km across three towns, with the North Sea nearby and the course following the coastline on both the east and west sides of the island.
The marathon field is small, but the results indicate a strong front group: 18 marathon finishers were recorded in one men’s 35-39 category, with 8 of them finishing under 3 hours. Allan Hovda finished first in 2:40:58, followed by Henrik Lindtner in 2:44:01, while the male median time was 3:40:58. The participants range from younger seniors to over 70, meaning the event is suitable for fast club runners as well as local and visiting runners seeking a late-season race in western Norway’s cool weather.
