About this race
The Østmarka Trail Challenge is a 37 km trail race in Oslo, Norway, held in August. It runs from Enebakk to Skullerud, crossing the Østmarka forest with approximately 900 meters of climbing. Rated medium demanding, it falls into the long trail category, suitable for runners with some experience on uneven terrain.
The route is hilly and can be challenging in sections. A portion follows the Flyktningeruta, the Refugee Route used during World War II. Organized by Østmarka Mjød & Knivstikkarlag, the event has a relaxed local atmosphere. Participants come to enjoy a long day in one of Oslo’s premier trail-running locations, rather than to pursue a fast, flat course.
