Vinterkarusellen i Ålesund - 1. løp

The Ålesund Vinterkarusell is a five-race winter series held in Ålesund. One race takes place on the second Sunday of each month from November to March. All races begin at 13:00 from BestDrive in Fremmerholen. Participants can select either a 5 km or 10 km distance. The 5 km option includes an untimed recreational class for those not focused on speed. The course follows Gamle Brusdals veg into Brusdalen before returning to the start/finish area. The 5 km route turns at 2.5 km, and the 10 km route turns at 5 km. Traffic is typically light on Sundays, but runners should be cautious near Hageland. Bright or reflective clothing is advised because of the winter conditions. Post-race refreshments include juice, cola, cake, and coffee, with prize drawings held after each event. Completing at least three races earns a series prize at the conclusion. The series originated in the mid-1980s near Furmyra and Åse, eventually relocating to Gamle Brusdals veg due to snow clearing and route challenges. The event's single-race participation record stands at 144 finishers.
