Cyclocross Series - Race Three 2026

Cyclocross Series - Race Three is a Nelson mountain bike club CX event featuring short, hard laps on mixed terrain instead of a single long point-to-point route. Participants compete for a set duration, typically about 45 minutes for the main cyclocross race, with the victor determined by the most laps completed before time expires. The event also offers an under-10 kids race on shorter, simpler laps and a 35-minute Short Track XC race open to any bicycle type, whereas the main cyclocross race requires drop-bar bikes. The course incorporates trails, roads, paddocks, fences, trees, horse jumps, steps, and any obstacles the organizer includes. Riders must carry or push their bikes through and over features they cannot ride. The series promotes friendly competition, welcoming new riders to compete alongside regulars, and costume participation is common in the Nelson CX scene. Senior racers receive a Belgian biscuit upon returning their number plate, and awards follow the cyclocross race.
