About this race
A secret location in the Wellington region provides an authentic out-the-door feel: bush trails, rural tracks, and enough map work to make it more than a simple run-bike-run. Dirt Duathlon – Kapiti is an "entry-level adventure race," but it is not dull; it mixes trail running, mountain biking, navigation, and "surprise challenges" in a way that rewards steady teams as much as fast legs.
The course uses a cloverleaf design, so you return to a central hub between stages, making the day feel like a series of small missions rather than one long effort. Riding is non-technical, navigation is "beginner-friendly," and the "unexpected tasks along the way" should keep experienced racers engaged while giving new racers room to learn. Teams of two, three, or four participate in a "great winter adventure" with a bit of strategy included.
