About this race
The Remarkables to Coronet Peak forms the core of the Peak to Peak Race, a "winter multisport race" that lives up to its name. It connects ski field, lake edge, beach, road, and climb in a single effort, "Traversing alpine, lake, and urban terrain" without suggesting any single discipline will suffice.
You begin by descending from The Remarkables, then cycle the access road to Frankton Beach before paddling across Lake Wakatipu to Queenstown Beach. From there, it is a run through town toward Arthurs Point, then the road bike ascends to the Coronet Peak Base Building. Solo athletes, tandems, school crews, business teams, and mixed teams all face the same fundamental challenge: manage the transitions, respect the climb, and conserve energy for the finish.
