About this race
The Bieg Jurka V Brygady Wilenskiej is a 5 km road race held by the Czarne forester's lodge near Skorcz in Poland's Pomeranian region. It is part of the Kociewski Running Series and includes a measured adult race alongside short children's races. The main race uses electronic chip timing, a PZLA-certified course, kilometre markers, and a 40-minute time limit, structured as a fast 5K.
The course is a 2.5 km out-and-back section on asphalt with a turnaround, allowing for easy pacing and field observation. LLKS "Ziemia Kociewska" Skorcz organizes the event, which also commemorates the V Wilenska Brigade and the anti-communist underground known as the cursed soldiers. Adults compete in men's and women's overall standings and age groups from 16 upward, while children run 100 m, 200 m, or 300 m based on school age. Finishers receive medals, the top three overall runners get trophies and material prizes, a cash bonus is offered for breaking the course record, and prize drawings follow the awards ceremony.
