The Wojciech Korfanty Running Festival features a 5 km night race through central Katowice, beginning at 9:30 PM from Plac Sejmu Slaskiego. This road race on asphalt has a 60-minute time limit, making it suitable for runners seeking a brief city event over a long-distance competition. Online entry is limited to 900 participants, with an additional 100 spots reserved for registration when the race office opens; places are allocated based on registration order. The route crosses the city center and concludes at OS Kolejarz on Alfreda Street. The course is indicated by arrows and warning tape but lacks PZLA certification, positioning it as a local festival race rather than a course for official record attempts. Participants utilize electronic timing with a return chip affixed to their shoes. Results will display both gross and net times, with awards presented in men's and women's open categories, as well as age groups ranging from 16-19 to 70+. The festival also hosts separate children's races. Finishers of the 5 km race will receive a medal, water at the finish line, and access to showers at OS Kolejarz.
