About this race
Bieg po szpik – podaruj komuś szansę na życie is a free community run in Konin, held on the paved Bulwar Nadwarciański by the Warta River. It features two short distances: 1200 m for primary school students and 2400 m for high school students and adults. The run also serves as an educational event, with its primary purpose linked to bone marrow donation, physical activity, and support for individuals awaiting a transplant.
The shorter run is one 1200 m loop, while the longer run consists of two loops of the same course. It has a 20-minute time limit and a small field capped at 150 participants. ZSCKU im. Stefana Batorego in Konin, operating as Drużyna Szpiku, organizes the event. DKMS conducts potential donor registration during the event. Finishers receive a commemorative medal and a recovery meal. Category winners are awarded cups and prizes. Residents are encouraged to attend and cheer, viewing it as more than just a runners’ event.
