About this race
Górski Półmaraton Pętli Tatrzańskiej is a summer trail race held in Koszalin, north-western Poland. The start and finish lines are located at Plac Gościńcowy, near Góra Chełmska Krzyżanka. Participants can select a single forest loop of approximately 10.55 km or complete two loops for the half marathon distance of 21.1 km. Although the name suggests a connection to the Tatras mountains, the race takes place on Koszalin’s local hilly terrain, with the starting point situated between the sanctuary and the observation tower close to Góra Chełmska.
The course consists of forest paths laid out in a repeating loop. The shorter race covers one lap, while the half marathon involves two laps. Organizers report approximately 300 m of elevation gain and loss per loop, totaling about 600 m for the full half marathon. This profile classifies it as a hilly race, distinct from a flat road half marathon. Stowarzyszenie SFX organizes the event, with assistance from Nadleśnictwo Karnieszewice and the Koszalin PCK rescue team. The race utilizes electronic timing, provides commemorative medals to finishers, and its course length is verified according to certified measurement standards.
