Kielecka Dycha is Kielce’s big local 10 km race, run in autumn and aimed mainly at amateur runners. The name means “Kielce Ten,” though some editions have stretched a little over the standard distance, closer to 10.7 km. It is described locally as both the city’s most popular race and the oldest amateur running event in Kielce. Recent editions use the Market Square as the start and finish, with MOSiR Kielce and the city involved in organizing it.
The route has changed over time: earlier editions started at the athletics stadium and ran mostly on forest roads near the Forest Stadium and Baranowski Park, with one loop and several climbs. Newer versions send runners through city streets, with a refreshment point around halfway and a 1 hour 30 minute time limit. The field is capped at 400 runners in recent plans, participants receive a commemorative medal, and the event also links to children’s races, so it works as a small city running day rather than just a standalone adult race.
