About this race
The DASZRADE Foundation Marathon and Half Marathon in Opalenie, located in Poland's Kociewie region, offers a marathon, half marathon, and a 10 km race. The marathon route is PZLA-certified, but the half marathon is not. The 10 km race, known as Dyszka "Olka", guides participants through a forest path. This event is organized by the DASZRADE Foundation in partnership with the "Zapowiednik" Addiction Treatment Center in Opalenie.
The marathon and half marathon courses are entirely on asphalt, crossing open fields and wooded areas surrounding Opalenie. The terrain is not flat; it features numerous steep ascents, with the marathon accumulating 646 meters of elevation gain. Aid stations are positioned approximately every 5 km, providing water, bananas, and sugar. The marathon course is marked every kilometer on the road, supplemented by signs every 5 km. Originally conceived for patients and therapists at the treatment center, the race still coincides with the center's anniversary. It is now open to all runners, with entry fees contributing to the foundation's support for individuals in addiction recovery.
