About this race
PKO Bytomski Półmaraton is a road race in Bytom, Silesian region, Poland, featuring a certified 21.097 km half marathon. Participants can also opt for a 10 km race or a 10 km Nordic Walking event, catering to a wider range of participants beyond just half marathon specialists. The routes are entirely asphalt, certified by PZLA, marked every kilometre, and timed electronically using disposable chips attached to race bibs. The event takes place in September with a 3-hour time limit for half marathoners.
The half marathon begins in Miechowice, following a single-loop course through Bytom. Aid stations provide water at 5 km, water and fruit at 10 km and 15 km, and water with isotonic drinks at the finish. Pacemakers are available to assist runners targeting 1:45, 2:00, and 2:15 finish times. Post-race, finishers can get their medals engraved with their results, and an active children’s zone is provided for families. The race is organized by Klub MKS MOSM Bytom, Ośrodek Sportu i Rekreacji w Bytomiu, and G City Plejada shopping centre.
