About this race
The PZU Gran Fondo Series is a Polish amateur cycling series with stops in Ełk, Poznań, Warsaw, and Toruń. The Medio Fondo option is 68 km in Ełk, and the Gran Fondo is 95 km. Starts and finishes are at large, accessible sports venues, such as Enea Stadion in Poznań and the Municipal Sports and Recreation Center in Ełk. Each city provides three distance options, accommodating stronger riders, recreational cyclists, and families.
The series features closed-road riding, allowing amateurs to race without traffic. The Ełk weekend also hosts PZU Gran Fondo Kids and PZU Family Fondo, extending beyond serious cyclists. In Gdynia, a related PZU Gran Fondo race for amateurs crosses Kashubia and the coast, featuring climbs and fast technical descents. The series also involves cycling ambassadors, some of whom participate in the races.
