About this race
The Rudzki Półmaraton Industrialny is an evening road race in Ruda Śląska, a Silesian city with mining and steelmaking roots. The main event is a certified half marathon of 21.0975 km, with a 10 km companion run and a Nordic Walking march on the same programme. The half marathon starts around 9:00 PM, with the 10 km race just after it, so runners spend the course under late-day and night conditions rather than in the heat of a daytime start. The finish is at the MOSiR stadium on Czarnoleśna Street, and the field is capped at 700 participants.
The half marathon course uses two laps, while the 10 km race uses one lap, and both routes have current PZLA approval. Kilometre signs run from 1 to 20, with two timing points and two refreshment points serving mineral water and isotonic drinks. The route leans into Ruda Śląska’s industrial identity: it passes mine shafts, old workers’ housing estates, the Chebzie train station area, the Kaufhaus estate, and Wielki Piec. More than 40% of the runners come from Ruda Śląska itself, and the race is already billed as its ninth edition, so it feels local rather than anonymous.
