cwiercmaraton komandosa

Ćwierćmaraton Komandosa is a demanding 10.55 km military-style race in Słupsk, northern Poland, held in May by the Sub ventum foundation. The distance may seem modest, but each participant must wear a full service uniform and carry a backpack weighing a minimum of 10 kg, making it more akin to a loaded field test than a standard road race. The course crosses Lasek Południowy, presenting runners with hills, steep ascents, sharp descents, mud, and sand. It attracts several hundred participants, comprising police, firefighters, other uniformed-service members, club athletes, and civilians opting for the same conditions. The race is a component of the Commando Slam, a six-race challenge that also features the 100 km Commando, Commando Marathon, Commando Half Marathon, Commando Knife Race, and Torturer's Race; all must be completed within a year to achieve the distinction.

bytowski maraton rowerowy mtb family

Bytowski Maraton Rowerowy MTB Family is an amateur mountain-bike marathon in Poland that starts and finishes in Bytowo. The race runs on forest routes and offers a 40 km main distance, a 20 km shorter option, and a separate route for children. Adults can enter the main distances from age 18, while the children's race is for riders up to 12 years old. The event has been organized since 2013 by the "Gryf" Cycling Club under the patronage of the Mayor of Bytów. The race is built for both solo riders and small teams, with team entries made up of two to four people. It is a mass event rather than a pro-only race, so the field can include local amateurs, families, and riders using the shorter distance as a more approachable challenge. Riders get a refreshment point on the route, every finisher receives a medal, and the top three in each category receive prizes. Part of each entry fee goes to charity, which gives the event a community purpose beyond the racing itself.

About cycling & running in Słupsk

Słupsk Training Notes

Running: Locals keep the easy running close to the Słupia River, Park of Culture and Leisure, Northern Wood, and Southern Wood. The long loop runs 53 km and gains 127 m. The short loop runs 21 km and gains 65 m. 2013 route, and Slupsk Rejtana handle short Z2 days or intervals. Czarni Słupsk, Gryf Słupsk, Słupia Słupsk, AML Słupsk, and LKS Fenix keep the local sport scene visible. The Commando Quarter Marathon and Blue 5 anchor the road calendar.

Cycling: Locals ride from town when they want base miles without making a drama of it. Słupsk has 1,225 cycle routes, so road, gravel, and gran fondo legs all get fed. One route runs 4 km with 519 m ascent and 540 m descent. Another route covers 1 km with 1,057 m ascent. The climbs hide inside the longer mapped routes, especially Juliana Tuwima do aleja Henryka Sienkiewicza and Kozak Wileńska do Piaskowa 54-25. SKB Czarni Słupsk and TPS Czarni Słupsk sit on the local club roll call. Włóczykijowy Challenge and Bytowski Maraton Rowerowy Mtb 2025 Family give the season its targets.

Season: June, July, and September are the months I would circle first. Most people get on their bikes here in June and July, and July brings the warmest stretch. September rides better for many legs, because the roads feel slightly easier and the dirt roads keep gravel options open. Summer runs stay simple in Park of Culture and Leisure, Northern Wood, Southern Wood, Rowy, and Poddąbie. Winter changes the rhythm, because February is the coolest month and snowfalls can happen between December and April. Locals still run Z2, while cyclists swap big road days for shorter loops, gravel checks, or cyclocross-minded work.
