Turbacz Summer Trail Gorce Maraton 2026

Turbacz Summer Trail is a mountain running event held in Nowy Targ, with courses ascending into the Gorce mountains and returning to the same town. The main event is a 46.5 km mountain marathon featuring 2,200 meters of elevation gain, presenting a challenge akin to a demanding day on steep trails rather than a hilly road marathon. Shorter distances broaden the event's appeal: a 26 km race includes 1,200 meters of ascent, and the 11 km Letnia Dwunastka still offers 600 meters of climbing. The event takes place in July, organized by Fundacja Rozwoju Sportu i Pro. The race centers around Turbacz, referred to as the “king of Gorce,” forming its identity and primary challenge. Nowy Targ serves as both the start and finish point, with runners departing the town for the mountains and returning there. The participant numbers are moderate but active across all distances; recent results indicate 76 finishers in the long race, 128 in the 26 km, and 96 in the 11 km. The pace at the front is brisk for this type of terrain, with winning times under four hours for the main course, just over two hours for the 26 km, and under an hour for the shortest option.
