Recurring 5K races near Gdynia

Races that repeat — weekly, monthly or yearly

Sopocki Polmaraton
SUN OCT 25
Sopocki półmaraton is a 21.0975 km half marathon in Sopot, on Poland’s Baltic coast. The race starts and finishes at ERGO Arena on Plac Dwóch Miast, a large indoor arena on the Sopot-Gdańsk border. The route is certified by the Polish Athletic Association, ensuring runners receive an official half marathon distance. The course is marked with vertical signs at every kilometer, assisting runners with pacing the full 21.0975 km. The start utilizes waves, with each zone departing after a separate sound signal from the starter. Entry is limited to runners registered under the event rules. The organizer advises participants to check for late changes, as the date or location may be altered or the race cancelled if circumstances necessitate.
Sopocki Bieg Niepodleglosci na 5 Km
TUE NOV 10
The Sopocki Bieg Niepodległości 5 km begins and ends at Sopot Pier, the city’s most recognizable landmark on the Baltic coast. This brief Independence Day race commences late in the morning, suitable for runners aiming for a fast 5 km and those seeking a leisurely patriotic run by the sea. The course leads from the pier through North Park's trails, incorporates a section on the beach, and circles back to the pier with the sea adjacent to the finish. Prior to the start, participants collectively sing the Polish national anthem, and the participants often wear white and red attire. Finishers are awarded a commemorative medal and hot tea, fitting for the November weather and the seaside setting.
Goń Zajączka III Bieg Charytatywny
SAT APR 10
Goń Zajączka is a spring charity 5K held in Park Reagana in Gdańsk-Przymorze, organized by Fundacja Feniksa for the Hospice Foundation in Gdańsk. It takes place a week after Easter. The name translates to “Chase the Bunny,” and the Easter theme is evident at the start line: runners are encouraged to incorporate ears, tails, hats, painted-egg colors, or other holiday elements into their attire. The event welcomes participants of all paces; individuals can run, Nordic walk, or opt for a family stroll, and it has attracted hundreds of participants. The park race follows a 5 km course, while the virtual option allows participation from any location, requiring a minimum of 2 km completed through chosen activities. This flexibility enables supporters outside Gdańsk to engage. All proceeds from registration, donations, and entry fees benefit the Hospice Foundation’s beneficiaries. Near the finish line, organizers provide food, activities for children, and awards that extend beyond top finishers, including a prize for the last participant to cross the line.

About 5K races in Gdynia

Gdynia Coastal Training Notes

Gdynia hosts 23 5K races in 2026 within 80 km of the city centre — upcoming dates, recurring series, and other races nearby, all in one place.

Gdynia gives runners an easy coastal rhythm, with the beach route doing a lot of daily work. Locals use Trasa wzdłuż plaży w Gdyni for safe base miles, Z2 jogs, and simple intervals when the wind behaves. Tricity Landscape Park gives runners forest trails when flat seaside laps feel too tidy. RC Arka Gdynia, Arka Gdynia, and Bałtyk Gdynia keep the local sport names familiar, even when your group chat is the real run club. PKO Gdynia Half Marathon and PKO Gdynia 5K anchor the spring road season. Nocny Bieg Swietojanski, Bieg Niepodleglosci Gdynia, and Gdynia Ultra Way keep the calendar honest.

Gdynia lets riders choose fast coastal spinning or lumpier work without overthinking it. Locals spin along the waterfront for a relaxed ride, or take on the climbs toward Kępa Redłowska for a bigger effort. R10 gives the city its clean gran fondo line, and the Gdynia to Gdańsk stretch runs nearly 30 km on that route. Gdynia to Sopot gives riders about 12 km when the legs only need a short turn. Oksywie Loop runs just over 6 km, and Chwarzno-Wiczlino loop keeps things tight at about 5 km. Puchar Świata MTB Eliminator Gdynia, Garmin MTB Series, Triathlon Gdynia, and Enea Ironman 70 3 Gdynia sit on the anchor-event list.

Late spring and summer suit Gdynia best, because the sea keeps the air steady and the daylight gets generous. Gdynia gives runners and riders 17 hours of daylight in midsummer, so morning Z2, lunch intervals, and evening beach miles can all happen in one day. Autumn often feels warmer than spring because the Baltic hangs onto heat. Winter changes the plan more than the mood. Gdynia drops to around 7 hours of daylight in midwinter, and late autumn, winter, and early spring bring little sunshine. Forest roads can hold snow, and the path to Krokowa had about 300 m of unrideable snow before it turned okay.
