About this race
The 10ª Corrida de Santa Maria is a street-running event in Santa Maria de Lamas, with the start and finish set beside the local park. The main race is 8.7 km for senior and veteran runners, and the program also gives walkers a 3 km option and children up to 10 a 500 m mini-race. The schedule runs in a clear order: the children race first, then the walk, then the main race. Registered club athletes and non-registered runners can enter, with senior, Vet 40, Vet 50, and Vet 60 categories.
The routes use urban streets around Santa Maria de Lamas, including Rua de Santa Maria, Av. Comendador Henrique Amorim, Rua de Moure, Rua das Ribeiras, Rotunda do Broquista, and Rua de São José. The mini-race is one short lap, the walk is one 3 km lap, and the main race uses a multi-lap format over its 8.7 km distance. Timing is electronic, with each runner using a chip on the bib. Results include individual and team classifications, and the event gives medals to all finishers, shirts to main-race and walk participants, trophies for the top three in each category, collective prizes, and prize money for the top three in each main-race category.
