8th Solidarity Trail of Ribeirão 2026

The Trail Solidário de Ribeirão begins at the Ribeirão Swimming Pools in Ribeirão, a parish of Vila Nova de Famalicão in northern Portugal. It is a local trail running and walking event featuring a 15 km trail race, an 8 km non-competitive walk, and a children’s race for ages 5 to 12. The morning start and the mix of race, walk, and kids’ event position it more as a community sports day than a runners-only fixture. The route follows the natural trails around Ribeirão, with recent editions introducing a new course allowing participants to discover different areas of the village. Adults can compete in the trail race across age categories, while walkers and children have dedicated formats. The solidarity aspect is key: registration fees from the walk have aided individual children with serious health conditions, and dog food or canine supplies from entries are donated to the Vila Nova de Famalicão animal collection centre.
