The Ansião Gravel Race Challenge is a gravel cycling race held in Ansião, a town in central Portugal within the Sicó region. It takes place around mid-September and functions as Portugal’s National Gravel Championship. The race starts and finishes in Ansião, with a course designed for riders capable of navigating gravel, rural roads, and off-road segments.
The route incorporates the municipality’s country roads and the surrounding landscape, avoiding a closed circuit. Current race listings show distances of 80 km and 120 km, while championship details specify 90 km and 140 km. Portuguese riders with federation competition licenses compete for official classifications, and non-licensed riders can participate in a separate Open category. Ansibikers, the local cycling association of Ansião, organizes the event, which was introduced as Portugal’s first National Gravel Championship.
