About this race
Benfeita Trail is a small mountain trail race held in Benfeita, a schist village in the Arganil municipality of central Portugal. It takes place on the weekend before the Assumption holiday, offering 11 km and 21 km routes over technical trails in the Serra do Acor.
The course incorporates forest paths, rugged mountain tracks, and a section of the Benfeita Schist Path known as Frescura das Cascatas. It also crosses old routes that once connected nearby villages, alongside newer trails created after significant forest fires. The event, initially supported by the local parish and community, now attracts around 250 participants on average and is part of the ADAC district trail running circuit for Coimbra.
