Corrida / Caminhada Memorial João Maltez is a road event between Rio de Moinhos, in Borba, and Glória, in Estremoz, Portugal. The main race is a competitive 10 km run, with a 6.5 km walk and Kids Athletics races so children, walkers, club runners, and less experienced participants can all be part of the same event. It is both a memorial and a charity event, created to honor João Maltez, a young athlete linked to Grupo Desportivo e Cultural de Rio de Moinhos.
The route connects two places tied to João Maltez’s life, including the locality where he began athletics. It follows a typically Alentejo setting and is not especially hilly, with roughly 50 meters of climbing and 50 meters of descent. Part of the entry fees supports social causes, including the Bombeiros Voluntários de Estremoz, and the day usually includes a symbolic tribute at the foot of the Estrela in his memory.
