About this race
Corrida de São Pedro is a 10 km road race in Póvoa de Varzim, Portugal, run as part of the city’s São Pedro popular festivities. The main race starts at 10:00 near Varzim Stadium, and the programme also includes a 5 km solidarity walk for people who want to join the event without running. It sits on the Portuguese Athletics Federation national calendar and draws runners of different ages and levels, from local participants to stronger competitive athletes.
The course goes through several streets of Póvoa de Varzim rather than staying around a single park or waterfront loop. Portuguese athletics names usually appear on the start list, but the event is not only for fast runners: the walk, called “É Bom Viver Aqui,” is a 100% charity option. Walk registration costs 5 euros, includes a T-shirt, and the full amount raised goes to the Volunteer Firefighters of Póvoa de Varzim.
