Corrida Porto de Viana

Corrida Porto de Viana is a 10 km road race in Viana do Castelo, set within the working port instead of a typical city course. The 10 km run and the 5 km walk both begin inside Porto de Viana do Castelo, finishing near Jardim da Marina. The walk allows families, casual walkers, and individuals of varying fitness levels to participate together without competing, while the 10 km offers prizes for the top three male and female finishers. The race is held during Dia do Porto de Viana do Castelo, the single day the port opens to the public with additional community activities. This provides the event a more local character than a standard road race, as participants move through an area normally restricted for port operations. The location is situated between the city and the coast, and the event is presented as a late-afternoon sunset gathering as much as a race.
