HELL160 - Shadows and Dust is a July trail running series in Portugal’s Alentejo region, based around Beja and the left bank of the Guadiana. The main race is a 164.5 km ultra with about 1,881 metres of climbing and the same amount of descent. Shorter options range down through 104 km, 57 km, relay legs, and races under 20 km. The event is designed for solo runners, pairs, teams of five, and relay squads.
The long route starts in Beja’s southern zone, and one listed course finishes in Serpa. It links inland Alentejo towns rather than using a mountain-style course. Its character comes from the heat, open plains, and quiet countryside of the Guadiana’s left bank. The organisers describe the race as a tribute to the land, identity, and courage of the local people. GPX files are provided for several courses, fitting a race where navigation and planning matter as much as speed.
