IBÉRICO BIKE RACE 2026

The Ibérico Bike Race | Barroso is a GPS-guided mountain bike race held in Montalegre, within Portugal’s Gerês region. Participants can opt for a single-day event or a longer format spanning the weekend. An optional Friday prologue precedes the timed racing on Saturday and Sunday. This race is designed for those seeking a timed off-road challenge that relies on GPS navigation rather than course markings. The optional prologue determines the leader’s jersey and start positions. The main competition consists of two timed stages. Entries are accepted for solo riders and pairs, including mixed teams. The event also features Ebike and Gravel categories. Having completed four editions, the event's location in Montalegre offers a local flavor, with riders able to sample regional sausages and smoked meats between stages.
