Milha Urbana Falagueira Jovem is a free urban athletics race in Amadora, taking place in May near Amadora Este Metro Station. It features short road distances: one mile, 1 km, and 300 m, making the programme suitable for children, beginners, club runners, and older athletes, not just experienced road racers. The event is part of the Lisbon Championship of the Mile and includes categories from Benjamins to veterans.
The race utilizes a closed city circuit, providing runners with a controlled course and allowing spectators to follow the action without the dispersed nature of a longer road race. Both registered and unregistered athletes may enter, and the free entry aligns with the event's goal of increasing participation in athletics. It is organized by the Junta de Freguesia da Falagueira Venda Nova with the Lisbon Athletics Association and support from Amadora's municipal council, and this marks its 19th edition.
