About this race
The Semi-Marathon de Fátima begins at the Sanctuary, a landmark central to one of Portugal’s significant pilgrimage sites. The primary event is a 21.095 km half marathon. A 10 km pace option and a non-competitive 10 km distance start concurrently in the morning. Runners and walkers are welcome, and the event is open to adults and older teenagers.
The course is fully marked and secured, passing through Fátima and its environs, not confined solely to the sanctuary area. This setting provides the race its distinct character: Fátima hosts approximately 6 to 9 million pilgrims annually, and this event places runners within that same public space. The most unique tradition occurs the evening before the race, when participants may assemble before the sanctuary for a blessing of their running shoes.

Fátima, District de Santarém
