The Trail do Queijo da Fajãzinha takes runners to Flores Island in the Azores for an October trail event focused on Fajãzinha. The program includes three trail races—42 km, 21 km, and 11 km—along with a 6 km walk and a 1 km children's race. This offers options for serious mountain runners, local walkers, and families on the same morning. The 42 km race begins at Santa Cruz das Flores Airport, ascending 1,450 m before concluding at Largo do Rossio in Fajãzinha. The 21 km race starts in Lajedo, and the shorter events commence and finish within Fajãzinha.
The routes traverse rural trails, footpaths, forest roads, and brief paved sections, passing lagoons, waterfalls, protected zones, and historic island paths. The 42 km and 21 km races are point-to-point, whereas the 11 km trail, walk, and children's race are circuits. Participant limits are set at 75 runners for the 42 km and 21 km, 110 for the 11 km, 60 walkers, and 30 children. Adults may enter the two longer races; runners aged 16 and older can participate in the 11 km; children aged 6 to 12 have their own race; and the walk has no age minimum if a child is accompanied by an adult. The event also contributes to the national ATRP circuit and the São Miguel Island Trail Run circuit.
