About this race
Water Trail offers trail races on Sumas Mountain, featuring 10K, 25K, and 50K distances on rugged single-track. The courses traverse terrain above the Fraser River and Fraser Valley, providing mountain trails with expansive valley vistas instead of a road-race atmosphere. The 10K begins in the morning, includes approximately 450 metres of elevation gain, and allows several hours before the cutoff.
The event directly supports Run for Water's clean-water initiatives, with entry fees contributing to families in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Additional donations or fundraising efforts are eligible for tax receipts. Participants may switch to a shorter distance without charge if they provide advance notification. An optional 10K orientation run starts from the Sumas Mountain lower parking area. The race is cupless, requiring participants to bring their own. The 10K finish includes a sandwich from Lepp’s Bakehouse. The event holds Trail Sisters approval, demonstrating a clear commitment to equitable opportunities for all participants.
