About this race
Energiruset is a nighttime trail race held in Mariebergsskogen, a park in Karlstad, Sweden. It takes place in the autumn darkness, with many participants wearing headlamps. IF Göta Karlstad organizes the event with Karlstads Energi. Participants can choose between a 2 km or 5 km route, and there is a competitive class for the 5 km distance.
The 5 km course crosses mostly forest terrain, with some sections lacking artificial lighting. The headlamps are therefore integral to the race. This event is family-friendly and has attracted over 900 runners in a recent year. Participants receive sausage in bread after finishing.
