Kolmården Ultra Trail starts in the Kolmården forest in Sweden and gives runners two long trail options: 45 km or 60 km. The shorter race starts at 08:00 and the longer one at 07:00, with both finishes closing at 16:00. It is built as a demanding day out rather than a road-speed race, and the organizer expects runners to carry a phone, at least 0.5 litres of liquid in a vest or backpack, and a pressure bandage or blood stopper.
The route moves from deep forest onto the Kvarseboklint mountain ridge, drops toward the shore of Bråviken, and then runs through the nature around Nävsjön. Runners meet technical trails, boardwalks over bogs, and a hard final stretch through Bråviksbranten nature reserve. The 45K has four aid stations and no cut-off, while the 60K has five aid stations plus a 44 km cut-off at 13:30, which means runners need to average 9:00 min/km to stay in the race. Elite runners and amateurs share the event, and finishers receive a medal and light food after the line.
