About this race
Upplands-Bro Swimrun is a swimrun of approximately 15 kilometers in Sweden. It begins at Marina föreningshuset in Kungsängen and concludes at Stjärnparken in Bro. The race takes place on the same day as Brodagen, the folk festival held in Bro centrum, allowing the finish to integrate with a larger local event rather than being isolated. Now in its fourth edition, the event is designed as an accessible race, not a demanding point-to-point challenge.
The course features flat, easy running terrain. Racers will experience numerous transitions between land and water: eight running segments total about 13 kilometers, and eight swim segments cover 2,200 meters. The swims take place in four lakes: Mälaren, Lillsjön, Örnässjön, and Lejondalssjön. Lars Frölander, an Olympic swimming gold medalist who resides in Kungsängen and serves as a leisure consultant for Upplands-Bro municipality, established the race. Upplands-Bro Simsällskap and Tibble Sjöscoutkår are the organizers, with municipal backing.
