Beh Poniky - Memoriál Ondreja Holca

Beh Poniky - Memoriál Ondreja Holca is a cross-country running event held in Poniky, Banská Bystrica district, using the ŠK OPL Poniky football field as its starting point. The primary race covers 10 km with 290 meters of elevation gain, and a shorter hobby race is 3.7 km with 60 meters of elevation gain. The event also includes races for children, with school-age runners competing over 800 meters and toddlers running 50 meters alongside their parents. The main course begins with approximately 1.5 km through the village, then proceeds along village roads, forest paths, field tracks, and logging trails. After the 5 km mark, the course ascends, then descends for about 4 km before a flat final kilometer to the finish. The hobby race follows the initial 1.5 km with the main race, remaining on village and country roads. The Municipality of Poniky organizes this event, with age categories ranging from young children to older adult runners, including distinct hobby divisions and the Poniky Primary School Championships.
