About this race
Doby vežu is a summer obstacle race and trail event in Brezno, Slovakia, centered on a difficult ascent of a 40-meter observation tower, the nation's second tallest. Participants can choose from a 3 km obstacle race, 7 km trail runs, and children’s races, making the event suitable for more than just experienced obstacle-course runners. This is the race's sixth edition, featuring over 35 obstacles, approximately 450 meters of elevation gain, and minimal road surfaces.
The course winds through forest paths, meadows, a stream, roots, rocks, steep ascents, and sharp descents before leading runners to the tower's summit. Obstacles involve mud crawling, climbing sections, a slide, shooting, parallel bars, a slackline, cargo net, hand-over-hand OCR elements, bar hanging, brushwood carrying, and even forest machinery. Failing an obstacle on the first attempt results in burpees; skipping an obstacle or penalty leads to disqualification. Beyond the racecourse, organizers provide push-up challenges, folk music, a DJ, bouncy castles, face painting, and a foam party for children.
