Half Marathon races near Torremolinos

The Media Maratón Ciudad de Fuengirola is a half marathon held in Fuengirola, on Spain’s Costa del Sol, starting and finishing at the town fairgrounds. Organized by the Sports Department of Fuengirola City Council, this is the ninth edition and expects around 2,500 runners, similar to last year. It is a road race with a 2 hour 45 minute time limit, suitable for steady amateur runners and faster athletes competing for category places. The route remains within the town, utilizing Fuengirola’s main streets and avenues, and includes a section along the seafront promenade. The course features minimal elevation gain. Aid stations are provided at 5, 10, 13, 16, and 18 kilometers, with an additional station after the finish. Entry categories include junior, promise, senior, and veterans, with veteran groups divided by age. Disabled athletes may participate on foot or in wheelchairs. The top three men and women in each category will receive trophies, overall winners will get cash prizes, and all registered runners will receive a participant gift.

The Maratón Málaga begins at Paseo del Parque, directly before Málaga City Hall. The half marathon departs from this same location at the same time. This is a 42.195 km road marathon held in Málaga, Andalusia, during November. The course is officially homologated, with each kilometer marked, and adheres to WA and RFEA road-racing regulations. It is also listed on the AIMS calendar. The event is open to participants aged 18 or older on race day. Age categories range from Sub 20 and Sub 23, covering senior and master classifications, up to those over 70. Bib collection is scheduled at the Expo Maratón, located in Terminal B of the Port of Málaga, near La Farola. Participants must present their registration confirmation and official identification. During the race, the bib must remain visible on the front of the torso and must not be altered.

The Semi-Marathon Benalmádena begins at the Elephants roundabout, guiding participants along the Costa del Sol coastline. This November event, a charity half marathon, is promoted by Holiday World and Benalmádena City Council. The main race covers the standard 21.097-kilometer distance on an urban circuit. The event supports Fundación Proyecto Hombre Málaga and is part of the organizers’ social action program, promoting healthy habits and sports tourism in Benalmádena. Trophies are awarded to the top three men and women in each category, all registered runners receive a refreshment bag, and the day concludes with a paella tasting.

The Generali Maratón de Málaga is a road race held in Málaga, Spain, featuring a 42 km marathon and a 21 km half marathon. Scheduled for November, the marathon course is advertised as faster, flatter, and straighter than previous editions, beneficial for runners aiming for a consistent pace. The event includes more than just the two main races: a Kids race, a Brunch Run, a “You Rock Málaga!” activity, and a photo contest are also offered.
