Autumn Challenge Day 2
SUN OCT 11
Spooky Challenge Day 2
SUN NOV 1
Spooky Challenge Day 2 is an 8-hour timed run and walk held on a Sunday, starting from Station Road. It features a flexible start window instead of a single mass start. The organizer employs a “Turn Up Get Going” system, allowing participants to arrive anytime between 7:30 and 14:30, provided they complete their final lap by 15:30. The event has a small capacity, limited to 70 entrants, with a minimum age requirement of 18. The course consists of a 5.3 km out-and-back lap along an old, disused train line. This route offers an undulating terrain, combining off-road sections with paved surfaces. Participants of all skill levels are welcome, and the timed format allows individuals to determine their own distance within the 8-hour limit. Finishing after completing 1, 4, or 14 laps is considered a valid finish, and all finishers will receive an event medal.
Flapjack 5K Race
SUN MAR 14
The Flapjack 5K is a flat road race held at Torbay Velopark, utilizing smooth tarmac. The event is designed for runners aiming for a fast time, featuring RFID chip timing, clearly marked and marshalled routes, a water station, toilets, medical support, and on-site event caterers. The course begins with two laps within the Velopark. Participants then proceed on a newer tarmac path, recently laid by Torbay Council, for an out-and-back section before returning to the finish line shared with the Donut Duathlon. All finishers will receive a flapjack and a medal, with additional prizes awarded to category podium finishers.
Flapjack 5K
SUN MAR 14
The Flapjack 5K is a new, flat 5K at Torbay Velopark in Paignton, Devon, starting at 10:00 am. It is run on a measured course with England Athletics affiliation, professional RFID chip timing, and a route built for runners chasing a quick time rather than a hilly day out. The course starts with two laps of the Velopark, then goes out and back on smooth tarmac paths recently laid by Torbay Council, finishing on the same line used for the Donut Duathlon. Sportiva Events runs the race, Ben Tisdall is listed as organiser, and finishers get a medal plus the promised flapjack; category podiums get prizes, and the setup includes marshals, water, toilets, caterers, and trained medics on site.
